New research has suggested that people still like to use a watch to tell the time, rather than just using their mobile phone these days like some people suggest.
The survey of executives, carried out by TheLadders.co.uk, found that people especially like to have a watch on in work meetings, with 56% saying they wear one. This might be connected to the fact that 88% of senior executives say that taking a mobile phone into a meeting smacks of a lack of professionalism.
It’s not just at work, though – 69% of those surveyed said they prefer to use a watch to a mobile phone to stay on time in everyday life. According to the survey, most people wear a watch to work, with 78% saying that they do and 63% doing so because they think it makes them look professional.
You can easily get a professional-looking designer watch for less than £100 to look the part at work – might be worth it to get you through those meetings!
