Jaeger-LeCoultre watches have broken new boundaries for encapsulating the essence of true masculinity this year. It has given the world of watch lovers a further reason to salivate at the thought of another new transformation equipped with a number of appealing functions. With dedication to functionality, the Master Compressor Extreme Lab 2 ref. 203T541 has yet again defined traditional ideologies of complexity and high precision to form a masterpiece that is set to outshine rivals this year at Basel 2015. The Master Compressor line acknowledges the new addition as a highly pragmatic and easily maneuverable companion that makes no compromises when it comes to combining sophisticated ergonomics with reliability.

When we envisage the beauty of Jaeger-LeCoultre watches, we need say very little. We are simply captivated by the pure wonder of these bespoke pieces whilst they do all the talking for themselves. From specially assembling and adjusting the intricate movements of calibre making, to perfecting each watch case during the polishing process – every exclusive stage of watchmaking practice is embraced and carried out with considerable care at Jaeger-LeCoultre’s headquarters. The brand incorporates some of the rarest craft professions within their watch laboratories to undertake the transformation of tiny pieces of metal into mechanical miracles, producing stunning results that are now globally recognised for their exclusive appearance.

The Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Compressor Extreme Lab 2 comprises of a total of 569 individual pieces to make up this newly developed integrated movement and the chronograph is undeniably at the forefront of this design. Comprised of an unprecedented jumping minute counter, this special feature matches the unique appeal of its surrounding dial and trapezium-shaped skeletonised hands. The hour totaliser sits underneath the 12 o’clock peak whilst the date window positions itself at the 3 o-clock location, exposing the workings of the date barrel underneath. The chronograph complication makes use of a striking vertical clutch and column wheel. Elapsed minutes are recorded via a digital counter resembling that of an oversized date display. The stunning open dial showcases a window through to the home of an extremely intricate and complex watch movement. A push and slide lever on the wall of the case at 9 o’clock allows the wearer to hault the seconds hand when wanting to stop the watch in its tracks. The 6 o’clock position also presents a second time zone.

The case material is made from titanium in a Dual-ring sandwich structure and the movement container is comprised of TiVan 15 – an exclusive material to Jaeger-LeCoultre. The Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Compressor Extreme Lab 2 is equipped with a power reserve of 60 hours which is represented in the form of a power depletion meter shown in the Radial Power Indicator of the upper dial changing from white to blue as the power diminishes. Although the ceramic bezel equipped with an integrated crown (to provide an easy function shifter) slightly differs from existing models of the past, the aesthetical perfection along with technological aspects have remained practically unchanged. Any lover of a complication dial will appreciate the intelligently balanced layout of this skeletonised dash. Injected with a yale blue colour onto the dial and incorporating blue stitching to the leather strap adds further leverage to the overall striking finish of the watch.

The Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Compressor Extreme Lab 2 has been precisely designed to appeal to a wider audience by offering an alternative colour choice as well as the advantage of some additional valuable modifications.
